Just to confirm, I do not refurbish other peoples Lambrettas, so would not be able to give you a price. If you need any general advice, feel free to reach out to me. Also consider joining a few Lambretta forums for some advice. Facebook Lambretta Shaft riders is a fairly good one. The LCGB Forum (Pre 57 area) also has some good advice.
I hope you do not mind me saying that you may want to think twice before getting the engine refurbished. Depending on what you need doing may impact if a company would touch it. If your looking at a complete engine strip down of every nut and bolt and replacement seals and bearings, there is a risk of breaking some parts on the engine and in particular the mag flange. Some of these come off with hard effort, while others are even more difficult and require much patience and skill. If engine mounts need replacing, much care needs to be taken here as well.
If it is only a case of the Lambretta not having run for over 2 years, but you have compression, consider simply changing the oil, points, spark plug, condenser, HT lead (optional) and fitting a coil (if it has not got one already). Your other basic checks would be brake pads and lighting.
Alternatively, if you have a spare £350, you may want to think about updating to a Varitronic Ignition solution to bypass most the above.
Some other pointers:
Pre 57 Lambrettas are known to have oil leaks (Especially by the kick start area) if you put too much oil in them (& the oil levels needs checking regular)
If you don’t use it for a while and leave petrol in it, remember to rock it from side to side to remix the oil & petrol in the tank.
Pre 57 Lambrettas can be a little temperamental at times and very good at not starting if left in damp conditions for several months in a garage or shed, which is normally related to ignition problems, or infrequently the carb. A Varitronic ignition solution would aid with a number of ignition problems you may experience over time.
