For indexing purposes, this post applies to Lambretta LD 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958 Flywheel Removal using a 19mm thin walled socket and LD flywheel removal tool.

Information and Notes

Notes on this removal and issues:

During the review, I had researched online and found reference to the following information and took the following steps to rectify:

• Soak in rust penetrating WD40 (x1 week to no avail)
• Soak in other fluids (for three days to no avail)
• Use a hammer and a piece of wood (on and off to no avail and after each attempted solution mentioned above – to no avail)
• (1) Use heat via a burner – Tried for 20 minutes to no avail
• Soak in diesel for up to three weeks (Started on 07th June18) to no avail
• (2) Use heat via a burner – Tried for over one hour to no avail, then placed back into diesel for soak
• (3) Use heat via a burner – Tried for over one hour to no avail, then placed back into diesel for soak.

Successful

• Succeeded 23 Jun18 – Video to follow!

Not tried:

• Soak in an acetate and transmission oil solution for a few days (Researched online – this would have been the next attempt!)
