Lambretta Piston Ring Location
In theory, with a new piston, the top arrow normally points to the exhaust outlet. However, some pistons and many old Lambrettas had no markings in this area.
The important thing to review in this area is that the rings do not ride over any of the holes inside the cylinder.
With this in mind, please see sample images below of one of my LD125 cylinders with two rings and there location of where they are sliding in between:
Notes: ( Lambretta Raymond Broad – Page 35) The ring stops should be fitted away from the exhaust port to avoid and serious damage resulting.
