Hi Alan,

For images of the Panels and lengths, please see the other News Post – Click Here

I have looked at all my Lambrettas and models of LD and LC,s from 1950 to 1958 and compared the side panels on them all.  In summary, there are three types as follows:

  • 1950 / 1952 Lambretta LC / LD (With carb inspection flap) – the length is 31.5 inches. ( also identified with using a single “Teleflex” gear cable )
  • 1953 – 1955 Lambretta LD (These also have a carb inspection flap) – the length is 32.5 inches. (also identified with using a single “Teleflex” gear cable )
  • 1955 – 1958 Lambretta LD – length is 31.5 inches. (also identified with regular twin gear cables)

Note:  It appears that all LD150’s are reported to have a standard panel of 31.5 inches (Including the firstly introduced 1954 build model!)

Summary:

If you review the website and the Right Side / News Post area you will see this email as a News Post and it includes the images and how I measured them.  You can then review the two panels that you have.  In summary, for your LD150, they should be 31.5 inches long.  When I looked during the visit, they seemed to be between 29.5 to 30.5 inches?  I would be interested to know what they are if you get a moment to check!

Your parts required should therefore be:

  • LD Side Panel Left – OEM number – 12181331 (INNOCENTI)
  • LD Side Panel Right – OEM number – 12181336 (INNOCENTI)

If thinking about ordering, you might want to check the sizes are OK in regards to the measurements I have listed before you order them, in case you end up with identical wrong reproductions ones.  Some options for your consideration and information:

  • Wait for them to appear on ebay.  Happy bidding!
  • SIP Scootershop (Reproduction – £174 for both sides) – Notes: I have never ordered from this shop and I would need to question what they claim the panels fit. They list them to fit a D / LD125 1951 to 1955 and a D / LD 150 1954 to 1957.  Compared to all my measurements on all my Lambrettas, it can only fit one or the other.  All my 1951 to 1954 Lambrettas have Right Side / Inspection Flaps.  I suspect reproduction ones would not have these inserted anymore for a number of reasons around reproducing / design and cost. However, I remain confused why they state the panel will fit all models of LD’s?  I have also emailed the shop a few times throughout the years and about the side panels question and received no replies.
  • Rimini Italy – They have a used pair for a LD (Listed as coming off of a 1957 build) for £130.60 (+ delivery) – I have ordered a number of times from Rimini.
  • Scooter Center ( Reproduction – Euro 220.00 + delivery) – I have ordered various parts from this shop a number of times.
  • Cambridge Lambretta list them, but do not confirm what they fit.  They are £99 each.  They will be reproduction and I suspect they are for later models (1956 onwards).    I have ordered various parts from this shop a number of times.
  • DiscoDezScooters – Listed as £180 (inc VAT) for 1955-1958 models.  I have ordered a few things from here before.

The website has all the links to the side panels above.  I have not sent this via email, as the email may be placed in your Spam area if I send the links.

Good luck finding the panels.
