Some humour on rare book findings
I am always looking out for that rare C; LC; D; LD manual.
A number of my manuals / books have been scanned and are available for download on this website free of charge. Note: If a book / manual is still available to buy, for copyright reasons, I do not publish these.
I saw an item / old rare book; manual on eBay worded with the usual “old rare book, musty smell due to age, but still in good condition” and looking at it online, I thought it was a book / manual that I had not got. I therefore bid and won the eBay auction. Upon the books arrival in the post, I found that the book was in fact one of my own books that I publish on this website and allow people to download free of charge and although I felt that I had been coned, I also had to smile to myself and thought “what a cheek, to send me a photo copy of a book I have scanned and uploaded for people to download free of charge”.
After contacting the seller and explaining what was sent (A photocopy of one of my original books), they were very apologetic and sent a full refund (Including postage). The front (photo cover) of this book was yellow in colour and was a photo copy of the 1st Edition Lambretta Serviceman’s Book tat I publish free of charge
Summary of this news post. If it’s (Manual) not listed in my Manuals and Books section / page (See here: https://lambretta.org.uk/lambretta-manuals-and-books/ ), think twice before you bid on it.
If you find a rare book and would like clarification on if it’s rare, please reach out to me and I will let you known my thoughts on the matter in regards to what you are thinking about buying / bidding on.
