If you have purchased a Lambretta or any other vehicle that was previously UK registered, it is important to register it as quickly as possible. To do so, please follow the guide line located on the Left Side called RF60 / VE60 (Log Book)
Question: Should I buy a Lambretta logbook or car logbook or any other type of RF60 or VE60 logbook via eBay or online?
- Maybe you just want it as memorabilia?
- Maybe you have heard about people that have VIN or Frame Number stamp kits that can stamp your vehicle with those that are the same as the logbook and reclaim the number plate back?
- Maybe you’re thinking of other ways that you can reclaim the historic number plate back and either put it onto your vehicle or sell it and try to make a profit?
My Answers
If you’re buying a logbook for memorabilia purposes only, then go ahead and do so and pay what you believe it is worth.
If you are buying the logbook in the hope of somehow either obtaining the vehicle registration number to sell or to put the number on your Lambretta or vehicle by arranging to get someone to stamp the log book VIN number on your vehicle, please think twice before doing so.
If the vehicle has already been registered without the RF60 / VE60 logbook and assigned a new historic number plate, the DVLA will assign the new number plate to the existing VIN and Engine number. Therefore, when the person who buys the log book arranges to have the VIN / Frame number stamped illegally onto their own Lambretta or car will find that when they try to register it, the VIN / Frame number and Engine number have already been registered and assigned a new historic number plate. The person then risks having their Lambretta or vehicle inspected and upon inspection, the false stamped VIN / Frame will be found out and a report would be required which may then show you attempting fraudulent activity and court proceedings may then take place.
Rember, Lambretta Frame and Engine numbers are located in the same place. Asking someone to stamp the VIN / Frame number in another location will be found out, as would trying to updating your existing VIN / Frame number information, by covering it with some weld and the re-stamping it.
